I am very new at this so bear with me

I installed alot of plugins the other day (about 3 days ago) and now when I go to install any new ones, a page comes up saying that it cant connect to my FTP. All my new plugins are in there and downloaded! It also says that the plugins are already installed in my server...I dont see them anywhere! Its driving me crazy!
I also cant figure out how to make the smiley toolbar work. They just come up with the symbol for them.
Like I said, Im new at this, so be gentle on your critisism..lol

Hi!
When you get a FTP-related message, this means that you might have wrongfully installed the SPARTACUS event plugin, which tries to connect to a server to download plugins.
You can now either remove the s9y spartacus event plugin through your plugin manager interface, or you can configure that plugin (click on the plugin name in the overview of event plugins) and remove the FTP credentials in there.
The smiley toolbar is meant to insert text-based smilies into your entries -- they should only be converted to "real" smilies once you view your entries in your blog frontend! (considering you have the "Emoticate markup" event plugin installed).

Garvin

Thank you SO much! I reinstalled spartacus like you said and now it works.
But maybe you can help me with something else (if its ok). I have a coppermine program so I installed the plugin "Coppermine Thumbnails". No pictures are showing up. On the weblog it says "Unable to connect to the database server" What do I have to put and where to make it work?
Thanks SOOO much..Like I said, this is all new to me

Hi!
That means you will need to configure the coppermine thumbnail plugin so that you enter the right database credentials into its configuration. Else it cannot connect to the coppermine database!

Hi!
You must enter the Database credentials! Not the user login data to the coppermine application itself...
When you installed coppermine, you must have entered the database credentials somewhere -- those are the credentials you need to also enter into the s9y plugin.
