Warning Smarty Error

Post by beel »

Hi and thanks for help in advance:

Something's wrong with my smarty.. (whatever this is 8))

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "admin/media_upload.tpl" in /homepages/43/d75107923/htdocs/serendipity/bundled-libs/Smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1095

So I cannot upload anything.
And one gets the same message when opening this link:

http://www.elsaschneider.de/serendipity ... Kat-1.html

I'd be very pleased for any comment on this!

Hi!

Something's wrong with your upload. My crystal ball tells me you forgot to upload the templates/ directory when you updated your serendipity. :-)

Upload

Hi Garvin,

no, neither did I update (newby and firsttime-user) nor is my template directory missing. I adjusted a lot of stuff in the css but can't imagine, that's the problem...

Hi!

Check thoroughly, the message indicates that you are missing the file

templates/default/admin/media_upload.tpl

Thanks Garvin, you are indeed right. So I also checked my downloaded serendipity.rar and the missing files are not in there either. Where to get them? (Is this a stupid question now?)

You've got the serendipity-package in a .rar-package? That seems not to be an official package, because the official ones are packed in .zip, .tar.gz or .tar.gz2.

You can download the official package from the download-page, that you access by the Download-Button at the top of this page, or by clicking on this link:

You can find this package here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... p_id=75065

You just have to go down to the "File Releases", click on "1.2.1" and then click on "serendipity-1.2.1.zip".

Downloaded

OK, thanks, seems my last zipped version just lacked those files. Now one last question: I know that at least 2 files (media_upload.tpl & media_pane.tpl) were missing. Now I can just replace them with the ones from the newly extracted files. But what if I am missing much more without having recognized yet? So my question is: Can I just upload all of it again (without my already adjusted css) and still have "my blog"? (Haven't written anything yet - just worried bout my layout...)

I am very excited about you guys' speed in answering. Thanks a lot for this!

Yeah, you should can do it like that. But you should consider the rules of upgrading an installation how it is described in the FAQ:

Leave it

Hey it worked up. No Smartywarning anymore. I leave it for now with uploading the template default folder and wait until and if I get new warnings.

Great!
