SPARTACUS status

I have noticed the new SPARTACUS plugin and that its future is 'very open'. What is its current status (i.e. where can I find out about it) as I have several ideas and would like to help with it.

The best thing would be to post on our mailinglist.
Ideas are to create a PEAR-like frontend (spartacus.s9y.org - the draft is there) and maybe a PEAR-channel for Spartacus. Spartacus should also maintain/fetch themes and make a full Serendipity-Upgrade possible.
The current status is that it works to fetch and install and ugprade plugins.
