Losing Entries on Save

I have been having this problem for a while with my blog and it's driving mad. Basically if I write quickly and then save or publish I don't have problems. However, if I am on a roll and writing for a while, 30 mins or so, and save my entry there is a 90% chance that it will say "Invalid Login" and lose any unsaved parts of the entry before I started typing. Now I am already logged when this happens. And as long as I have been saving every 5 mins or so it's all hunky-dory. But like I said anything longer leads to that dreaded error.

Any ideas?

EDIT: I am using Mac OS X (10.4 - 10.5) and browsers Camino and Safari to blog and they both do it.

Hi!

When you login, check the "remember login" checkbox. This will allow you to post entries with automatic authentication.

By default, your webserver (not serendipity itself!) logs you out after 22 minutes of inactivity.
