Serendipity Sucess Story

I am doing well with My Serendipity Blog at
http://sheck.com/serendipity/
I am using a slightly modified version of the default template and am enormously pleased with Serendipity.
I live in West Virginia, in the USA, and my Serendipity Blog is ranked in the top five blogs in the state on Google, number one on most days but it fluctuates between one and five in rank. If you go to google and query "Blog WV" or "Blog West Virginia" I will be found on top or near the top of the search results. How did this happen?
I took the liberty of adding a few extra meta tags into serendipity_genpage.php and the Google and MSN engine indexed my whole blog instead of just two levels deep. This dramaticly increases traffic.
A robots tag is needed to command the meta seach spider to index all and follow or they will only go two levels deep. A Copyright tag with 2005 will increase your rank over a page with a 2004 or no copyright tag. I distrobution meta tag with a "Global" perameter means you are not restricted by language type in the search engine results. A revisit tag will summon the search engine back more often as blogs are customarily indexed more frequently and we do want our blogs to be a search engine magnet.
The RSS Search engines are good but they are not that widely known yet among the internet public. Most Internet users still rely on Google and Yahoo.
A good blog is only as good as it can be found. I would be happy to share my modified copy of serendipity_genpage.php with the developers if they wish it. When these extra meta tags are integrated into serendipity_genpage.php the tags are visable in every page in the entire blog. Hopefully this will Make Serendipity blogs easier to find on the net. Every little advantage helps.
Wishlist: The announce entries (via XML-RPC ping) plugin could be expanded in the number of default services to ping. This way it would replicate capabilities of pingomatic.com but be integrated into the software.
As a Linux server admin, I have some customers who have requested Serendipity Installs. Three customers are currently using it. I have posted blogging software reccomendations for serendipity at the links below.
