Banning all trackbacks

Help! I tried out allowing trackbacks for a couple of weeks, but I only get spam. Someone has been spamming me constantly for four hours now. I therefore did the following:

>>To disable trackbacks alltogether, please edit your serendipity_config_local.inc.php file (see the FAQ for the fixperm.php script in case you cannot edit your file).
Then insert this line of Code somewhere before the closing ?> tag:
$serendipity['noautodiscovery'] = true;<<

Have I overlooked something? The spam hasn't stopped. Presumably I need to stop notification and everything will be OK? (I had trackbacks permitted for the past seven days, and subject to approval before that).

I think I misunderstood what I was doing. Have I simply stopped myself sending trackbacks out?

Meanwhile, I have found the word filter in the comment spam plugin and am blocking all trackbacks with the word galoponir in them, the fake name of the blog claiming to send the spam.

Thanks. I'll do that if I don't get any meaningful trackbacks in the near future.
