When I first installed Serendipity I would type in my web page http://www.wayofthegamer.com it used to say page not found because I was not typing in www.wayofthegamer.com/serendipity So I dumped all the files out of the serendipity file into the main root file. It worked for a while atleast to bring up the page. Now I get 404 errors for like a split second at times and then it loads the page. But Crawlers are having trouble. plugins do not work in the file named plugins that was dumped out of the serendipity folder. I still have to go inside serendipity/plugins and place it there. So it's kinda working for showing my page but it's failing in other ways. So my questions are..

1. How to I make a backup of all the posts and changes I have made to my site? Is it all in the serendipity folder or is it in the root now?

2. How do I get it to read the index page just by typing out www.wayofthegamer.com without dumping the file into the root?

3. There is many other things I need done and it's slow going. Are there serendipity official people that can be payed to make the changes I need.

The old paths were still in your Database tables. If you move a s9y install, you need to follow the steps mentionied in the FAQ on www.s9y.org, and also make a Database SQL Dump backup and there replace the oldpath with the new path (or enter the s9y configuration and make sure the paths listed there are okay).

Also check your .htaccess file if it contains the right paths.

3. You might want to ask Don Chambers or YellowLED, I believe they both do contractwork and are very capable!
