Please help with moving blog posts to another server

Hello all,
My serendipity blog has not worked in my current server host for a while, thus I am changing server hosts. I have backed up my site and have all serendipity files on my computer and have installed serendipity on my new server, although with a different URI. I would like to transfer my posts to the new blog on the new server. How can I do this from my backup? I can’t find my posts in any directory and guess they are in the database updates but I not sure. Could you please help with this. I thank you in advance.
