I installed the forumapplet on my website, but got several problems and questions:
- only English as a language ? Where can I change the name of colums for exemples in order to translate them in French ?
- When I add a picture using the "img", the url of the image is not added at the right place, and it repeats the all text of the message at least 3 times
- It does not show the picture, but the code
- Where can I erase the first message "system" ?
- I don't see any adminisytation tool for the forum, as for example a meaning to erase spam or things like that...

The forum of the website is at: http://reunions-de-consommateurs.com/jo ... age]=forum

Many thanks for all kind of help ;-)

Sandrine

Hi!

You can take the lang_en.inc.php file and save it as lang_fr.inc.php, and then translate the constants, yes. Please share the result of your translation so that we can add it to the plugin!
- When I add a picture using the "img", the url of the image is not added at the right place, and it repeats the all text of the message at least 3 times
Can you give us a full example URL with such a posting, or a screenshot please? I can't reproduce that here. :(

Maybe you are experiencing trouble with markup plugins. Check your s9y plugin configuration and see if you maybe have the BBCode markup plugin installed multiple times. Also tell us which other event plugins you are using, maybe you have similar markup plugins installed that interfere with each other.
- It does not show the picture, but the code
Same as above.
- Where can I erase the first message "system" ?
Through the forum admin section in your serendipity admin screen.
- I don't see any adminisytation tool for the forum, as for example a meaning to erase spam or things like that...
Same as above. :)

Best regards,
Garvin

Hello ;-)
Thankf for your help.. but actually, I cannot see any panel which allows me to erase such messages... same to moderate the forum.

I did a screen shot...Image

I also have a problem to set up the RSS feeds... but I will let this for later :-)

Many Thanks Garvin :)

Hi!

What happens if you click on one of those topics, like "Votre experience"? There you should be able to moderate postings :-) :-)

Garvin

That is not how it works, unfortunately. If logged into s9y, buttons will appear to reply, quote, edit and delete the post. A thread can also be moved, closed, or deleted. These buttons are english only though as they are not displaying text at all, but rather an image.

No buttons exist if a user is not logged in, and I don't see any ability to set priviledges for different user levels, so anyone who can log into s9y can do anything on the forum (I realize that was not part of Sandrine's question).

For the record Garvin, I honestly think this plugin needs a major overhaul. I know you think comments to blog posts are sufficient, but there are a LOT of people who want both a forum and a blog, and where possible, have them integrated. I honestly think THIS forum should be powered by an s9y forum solution, and not phpBB, but that is my own opinion! :)

Hi!

S9y focusses on a blog engine. I focus on the blog part, I believe for forums there are techincal superior solutions.Personally, I have no motivation whatsoever to reinvent the forum wheel. :)

Garvin

Hello Garvin,
Sorry to bother you, but it appears that when I click on one of the topic of the category, I can edit the description of the topic, but can't see the messages that have been posted within the topic. I can only see the messages through the website, but cannot erase them nor moderate the forum. :-(

OK, Solve :)

Hello :-) Problem soved, as I just logged into my website and immediatly went to the forum. And then, I saw the "delete" and all the administation things I could use :-)
So the problem was definitly the fact that I was not logged in or that I needed to be logged just before to go to the forum... Sorry about that and thanks for the tip !

;-)
