Add Logo

Post by lashawnie »

I am fairly new to Serendipity and I wanted to know if there was anyway you can customize the templates. I would like to include my logo on my blog.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Hi!

Yes, you can edit serendipity templates. They are the *.tpl files in your templates/XXX/ directory. They use Smarty and HTML markup (see http://smarty.php.net). More on templating can be found on www.s9y.org.

Also, you can simply add "HTML nugget" sidebar plugins to serendipity with which you can add any custom HTML code like a logo image to your blog sidebar.

If customizing a template by editing its code seems to hard, you might want to check out the Bulletproof template. It provides a very easy way to add a custom header image.

Where can I access the Bulletproof template and how can I download it to my Blog page and make changes?

Also, I tried to add my logo by using the "HTML nugget" sidebar plugin but it didn't work for me. It accepts html text that I put in, which appears only at the bottom of the screen and not the top, but not any images.

Thanks for your assistance.

Also, is there a customer service phone number for Serendipity? I am really going to need some help.

Bulletproof is one of the core serendipity templates as of serendipity release v1.2, which is the most recent release.

We updated bulletproof this morinng. Info can be found here:

http://board.s9y.org/viewtopic.php?t=11103

If bulletproof is not a template you want to use, almost any template can be modified to include a custom banner/header image.

There is no "customer service phone number"..... this forum is your best bet for getting assistance.

To help those of us who can actually help you with your problems, you could start by providing a url to your site.

I must object, at least partially :).

Faktor-E (the company I work for) offers commercial customer service support through our company phone at +49-228-96559-0. We charge around 82 Euro per hour, so be aware of that when calling. :-)

Best regards,
Garvin
