Can event_podcast stream mpeg4?

I have an flv player installed that presently stream flash videos. But I just got a new HD camera and my buddy is saying I should do mpeg4. The new format certainly seems a little clearer.

Thoughts?

Yes, the podcast plugin is playing mpeg4. It is using the Windows Media Player as default for this format.
I tested it in my blog: working!

Grischa,

But does it download the clip or stream it? And is there a related player that is more cross-platform compatible?

AFAIK the wmp can't stream. If there is a parameter for doing this with wmp I would be happy to hear about it.
I would like to have a more crossplatform compatible player instead of the wmp here, but I don't know one. Do you?

Nope. That's why I inquired.

I added a FLV player to the podcasting plugin, too. This is able to stream, too. But of course: It can't play mpeg4 videos, you have to convert them into FLV files..

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the distribution archive, but none of the demo html files inside of this do work here..

Hi Grischa,

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but since you are the developer of "event_podcast", does your plugin detect an imported rss podcast feed?

I have "event_podcast" installed and I currently use the "Generic RSS import" function under "Import data" in the administration menu to import my feedburner podcast rss.

Right now, it displays the description, but does not output the enclosure link or embed it.

Any idea how I can get my enclosure embedded? Or at the very least, a text link?

Thanks!

Hi tpost!

It would really be nice to not spread your request across 3 seperate threads! :( The answer is already in your isolated thread, please continue discussion there.

Also, Grischa, if you like to comment, please do that in that seperate posting and not here.

Regards,
Garvin
