Hey!
I have a problem with the keywords. I edited them in the file srendipity_genpage, but it does not work as well... is it possible to change the keywords - or something else - in the way that a search engine could find the blog? also searching for the content/posts I wrote?

thank you for helping me!

What does not work as well? Do the keywords not show up? What's the URL of your blog?

Apart from that: Keywords are dead. Advanced search engines like Google do not use keywords. They index the content on your blog, so the only way to score for keywords is to use keywords in the content of your entries. Blinding users by offering input boxes for keywords that are not used by search engines is IMHO not the way to go.

If you'd really need it, a plugin for this could of course be created. But I'd need to be convinced that you really need it :-D

(BTW, the serendipity_event_head_nugget should already allow you to enter <meta> tags for keywords to be put into the <head> section...)

Hey Garvin!
Thank you for your soon reply!
My first post was a little bit confusing, I think :-D
Of course the keywords are working.. but google does not really generate any result when searching for it.. that was the problem that I ment. (I didn't know, that google does not use keywords..)
But the other problem I have is, that when I would wrote a post e.g. about a pink elephant (no, I am not crazy :-), I don't know a better example..) google should show the link to the blog when searching there for a pink elephant..

I don't know if have understod everything you said :) ..I can solve the first problem with the serendipity_event_head_nugget? and the second wish I have, - there is no directly way to get a solution?

Hope you understand me :)

greetings!

The only way to get listed by Google for "pink elephant" is this:

1. Write an entry with "pink elephant" keyword in its content and/or header
2. Make sure that Googlebot visits your site (add your site to the googlebot on google.com, if that's not the case)
3. Wait.
4. Wait.
5. Wait even longer
6. Now eventually google will have your site spidered with that keyword automatically.

If that doesn't happen it simly means, google finds your page not important. You can only change this by getting other people to link to your site. Even better, people should link to your site using the keyword 'pink elephant' in the link title.

So the solution is: You cannot do anything about it because that's the way Google works. It cannot be cheated and their index takes some time (3-4 days) until it fully connects your pages with the keywords. Please look up the google.com FAQ for more information about this. :-)
