I think you will face the same thing that I do. I am a network administrator for a company that maintains other companies computers and networks that dont have IT staff. The problem I face is that there are so many "computer techs" out there with no legitimate certifications and training like I have (I am A Plus, MCP, MCSE, HP, Compaq and Gateway certified) and they are willing to work for much less than me. But obviously they have neither the experience nor knowledge base that I do.
There are a bazillion people out there than "can do web sites" so why should they pay you what you think you are worth? Youll have to do the same as me and sell them on your experience. Theer will always be cheapskates that go with the lowest price and they will get exactly what they pay for. I clean up those messes all the time. Most likely you will too after you have been doing this for a while.
As an example I have done our companies websites for the last 10 years. And for a basic and very static site it serves our needs. But if they want online sales and such they will have to go to a professional web designer as that is way beyond my talents.
And professionals have no problem telling their customers (and their boss) when they need to do that, its the amateurs that claim to know everything even when they are in wayyyy over their heads.
Good luck and HTH.
