Default Gravatar is not shown after upgrade to version 1.27

After upgrading to the avatarplugin 1.27 the default gravatar is not shown any longer.

The plugin should only look for gravatars and - if not found - change to the default gravatar/avatar (I do not even have to give the path to the default gravatar - there is no possibility to).

Any suggestions?

Hi!

Please post your exact configuration of the plugin.

In the configuration of the plugin you should see 5 Avatar choosers and after them the input for the Standard Avatar. Do you see the row "Standard-Avatar" but no input? Or do you see no row for the Standard Avatar at all?

Later: What version of Serendipity are you running?

Even later: After discussing this with Garvin, it seems you have updated from the Gravatar Plugin 1.6 to 1.27 and are using Serendipity 1.1.x, right? It seems, the Avatar Plugin is not full 1.1 compatible yet (it uses features added in Serendipity 1.2 earliest). I will release an update very soon (today). Strange, that nobody reported this earlier..

I released the patch. It is Version 1.28 now and with this version you should see a Default Avatar configuration again. It will pop up in Spartacus soon, if you are in a hurry, you can download the new 1.1/1.0 compatible version from my Blog: http://blog.brockha.us/public/serendipi ... avatar.zip

Thanks, but not working

Thanks Grischa, thanks Garvin,

I upgraded the plugin up to 1.28 and I found the [new] input field for the standard avatar, put in the path - but the standard avatar is not shown.

So I upgraded serendipity from 1.0 beta 3 up to serendipity 1.2. Now I can see the standard avatar shown on the left in the back end and the right path - but it has not any effect in the front end. No standard avatar.

What's up?

Cheers

Huh? What are these funny google links behind the commentors names? Is this done by a plugin? If yes, the podcast plugin should be placed in front of this plugin (inside the plugin list).

Hmm.. And I guess I have to look into your templates_c/serendipity_event_avatar/ folder. Could you zip it to me?

Two differnet things: First, there is google analytics that might have manipulated some settings...
Second, your proposal to move the podcast plugin - In Serendipity 1.2 I cannot find any possibility to change the position of a plugin. In former versions we had some arrows to move the plugins. Now there are none.

Zip the templates_c and send them - how can I get any e-mail from you or how could I send it with this forum software?

oh stop, I found how to move the plugins up and down, just klick on them and move them. It is cool and easy, similar to the new wordpress version (sorry for that...)

But is it working now, if the Avatar Plugin is in front of any link changing plugin?

BTW: Google Analystics doesn't change any link on my site..

No.
No Standard Avatar. The link is still like this:

I changed rating to X, just as you described for yourself in your blog and hope that this will change anything (but I think the problem is caused by quite another reason).

Hi drahtlos!

Just to clear things up: S9y has the drag'n'drop plugin moving method since one year for version 1.0 already (see http://garv.in/serendipity/archives/893 ... nager.html *g*). So Wordpress was actually copying us. Like they should. ;)

Uhm.. The X-Rating was set by me at the gravatar service, not in the avatar plugin. I guess, I realy have to get my hands on your template_c folder in order to help make it working at your site. Are you caching avatars? This is needed to have something in the cache folder.

In the plugin source is a global variable called "debug". You might set this to true, what will produce a log file below the template_c folder, perhaps this is giving more information, what is going on..
