plugin placement dropdown vanishes if advance JS activated

Post by raigl »

If Enable advanced JS usage is disabled in the user options, there are two dropdowns for each plugin, one for the author selection, and the other one for the placement (or disabling).

If adanvced JS is enabled, the second dropdown has gone.

The other way round I would have considered it as a feature, but so ...

Observered with 1.1, 1.2 and yesterday's CVS.

Hi!

That's right, because the second dropdown is irrelevant when s9y is enabled. You then use drag+drop ordering. :-)

Aha, but the column 'inactive' does not show up from unknown reason, so I cannot make a sidebar entry inactive when drag-and-drop is choosen.

Might be too complicated to have both coexist. And, having the option on the page itself would be clearer (where else is it used?)

Garvin, the speed and friendliness of your help exceeds all commercial software!

Thank you,
Rainer

That's what the "inactive" COLUMN is there for, in the middle between 'left' and 'Right' sidebars. :-))

It simply pollutes the screenspace, there's no real need to have the dropdown because it can be done with the drag and drop. It's much better to have less overhead there. It's much simpler and leaner this way, IMHO.
