Works either remotely or locally but not at the same time

Post by kito »

Hi,

I have a issue with my install. I have dsl and a router. My server sits behind the router. I wish to use my blog in my local network as well as remotely. I have used NAT feature of the router to forward the web port to the server in the past with other network software with no issues. I can run gallery for example. I cannot seem to make serendipity work both locally and remotely.

Basically when I setup the application the first time I can enter the host name. When I type the local ip address 192.168.x.x it works fine within my local network, but when I attempt to access the site remotely, no graphics show up on the start page and I cannot login.

If I re-install with the router WAN IP address, then I can remotely access fine, but when I attempt to access the site locally no graphics show up, but the text come up. As like the previous case, I cannot login either.

The error message I get when I attempt to login is : The webpage cannot be found HTTP 400

I tried to search for people with NAT router issues, but I did not see any. Any one have an idea what I am doing wrong?

Thanks.

Hi!

Enable "Autodetect HTTP-Host" in the s9y configuration, and all should work well.

Best regards,
