My apologies for the newbie questions, but how can I make an email address an active link in a blog post? I see that I can use the URL button for web links, but is there a way to do something similar for mailto links?

I might be completely wrong since I'm using the non-WYSIWYG editor, and you seem to be using the WYSIWYG one - but how about simply using "mailto:" instead of "http://"? Another idea (a much more safe one in terms of spam protection) would be to use the contact form plugin to create a, yes, contact form and link to that page instead of using an unprotected email address in posts.

I am not set to be using the WYSIWYG editor, but there are buttons for Italics, Bold, etc. I stupidly did not think about manually editing the HTML. Pretty basic...

I don't want to use a contact form because it's not my email address. I am trying to provide a link to the email addresses of public officials.

Thanks for the tip. I'm sure it will work., I just was not thinking.
