Hrm, that's weird...is there a list of databases on the left side? Perhaps in a dropdown menu?

Nope there is nothing to the left, here is a screenshot

Under where it says My SQL there on the right side, can you click on "Databases" and tell me if a list of databases comes up there?

I clicked that, here's what came up

and if I click on "jenstewart" here is what comes up

It looks like you may not be able to access the database. Perhaps you might ask them if there is a way you can have access so that you can change a few things in your database.

The only other thing I can think of is to do a fresh install and make /blog your serendipity directory. :/

I just called customer support with godaddy.com and they said that I would need to find out if serendipity creates a table to import, but other than that they can't help because it's not their system

I'm sorry, I am so lost here. It seems like there is just no information on there. the database is completely empty. it's like I created an account, but it's not linked to my files or whatever, and I dont' know how to do that.

I'm the one who's sorry, since I can't figure out what might be wrong.

Would you mind downloading a copy of your serendipity_config_local.inc.php and open it up with Wordpad? I'm just wondering if the database info found in that file corresponds to what you see on your phpMyAdmin screen.

I let jenstewart know in a PM that after some digging around, GoDaddy does not allow users to access databases on their automatic installations.

But the solution is that users can access databases on installations they do themselves via FTP.

I am going to post that in the General thread for beginners so that another s9y user doesn't have to go through so much frustration. (sorry jenstewart!)
