@Judebert: about the rewriting, does this mean it may be related to my .htaccess? I tried the one I had on file from my old web-host, no difference

Berlios result in a true error fest, I sent it in a PM to you.

Well, yes, that's the kind of thing I was thinking.

How did you manage to set SPARTACUS to look at Berlios? Those python errors were... unexpected. Anyway, I uploaded that version of SPARTACUS to my site: http://judebert.com/wasted_youth/media/ ... rtacus.tgz. Just download it, unarchive it, and upload the contents over your serendipity_event_spartacus/ directory. Oh, make a backup first, just in case.

When you try again, with your site set to NetMirror, it should give you a more precise indication of what's going wrong.

Hi, I tried the version you offered. Unfortunately there is no improvement. When I try to add a plugin:
An Exception Has Occurred
Python Traceback

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/srv/viewcvs/lib/viewcvs.py", line 3401, in main
request.run_viewcvs()
File "/srv/viewcvs/lib/viewcvs.py", line 264, in run_viewcvs
rev = int(self.query_dict['rev'])
ValueError: invalid literal for int(): 1.9999
and then the list to choose from is shown.

When I choose a plugin to install, there is no repsonse (waited for at least 15 minutes).
I tried this with a clean install, same result.

Hi!

Did you change the mirror to Netmirror? The error message you get can only occur when SF.Net mirror is selected...

Best regards,
Garvin

Hi Garvin,

yes both 'File/Mirror location (XML metadata)' and 'File/Mirror location (files)' are set to Netmirror.org

Hi!

Could it be you have the spartacus plugin installed two times?

The python message definitely comes from a sourceforge.net report, so I don't see another way you would be able to get the message?!

Best regards,
Garvin

I'm afraid not, it's only there once. Please note that I did a seperate clean setup of an S9Y database: same result.
I múst be my Web Host (it al started when I moved to this new host), but I have no clue what to ask from them because I don't know what's causing it.

(a very impolite) BUMP.

A very impolite "Hard to tell" :-)

A developer like Judebert or me would probably need FTP acces to your server, as it seems specific to your webserver.

Garvin

No problem, do want the account details in a PM?

Hi!

A quick hint came to my mind: Try to delete the *.xml files in the templates_c directory, then set the spartacus mirror to "netmirr.org" again and try again?

If that does not work, you could PM me the data and I'll take a look at it next week!

Best regards,
Garvin

Good suggestion, but I already tried that... :( No go.
I'll send you an PM, please be gentle with her!

I got rid of the python error message:
An Exception Has Occurred
Python Traceback

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/srv/viewcvs/lib/viewcvs.py", line 3401, in main
request.run_viewcvs()
File "/srv/viewcvs/lib/viewcvs.py", line 264, in run_viewcvs
rev = int(self.query_dict['rev'])
ValueError: invalid literal for int(): 1.9999
It turned out that the plugin I tried to install, Event Comment Search, was installed incomplete. When I removed the folder on the server (FTP) the python error message was gone.
However, installing plugins with Spartacus is still not possible. So Garvin, I hope you will find some time next week.

Hi!

Ah, good catch then. I will definitely check out your machine next week!
