Hi!

Netmirror.org is configurable in the spartacus plugin. You cannot enter manual paths anywhere.

You also don't need to edit any file. :)

Best regards,
Garvin

No firewall

I do not think that it is a firewall problem with my host because I would not be able to retreive the list of packages from the repository. I also am getting the following before the list of packages:

Trying to open URL http://netmirror.org/mirror/serendipity ... _event.xml ...
Fetched 192484 bytes from already existing file on your server. Saving file as templates_c/package_event.xml...

When I click on the link to the xml I get an error of the following:

XML Parsing Error: prefix not bound to a namespace
Location: http://netmirror.org/mirror/serendipity ... _event.xml
Line Number 14, Column 3: <requirements:s9yVersion>0.7</requirements:s9yVersion>
--^

I appears the the XML file has not defined the namespaces it is using. This would need to be fixed by netmirror.org.

timing out

I tried accessing the second URL it attempts to fetch when it fails to load a new plugin using spartacus.

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/* ... rev=1.9999

This is simply timing out. This occurs for all of the other plugins too!

Garvin,

This is still not working. It won't connect no matter what. I've went in and commented out and tried each mirror with the same error on every one of them.

Now this problem wasn't apparent until .9.1 and I just decided to wait until 1.0 came out and manually updated. It's not a problem for me to manually update but if I'm having problems the possibility for others to have problems is there as well.

I will do everything I can to assist you in troubleshooting this...whatever access you need to my site, it's yours. Whatever actions you need me to take, I'll do it. I feel this is a problem that needs to be solved because even if 3 out of 10 people find this to be a problem, that's too many and word will get out. I want to squash this quickly.

bloginonline: If you get those URLs you are not using the spartacus plugin bundled with serendipity 1.0! The URL of SF.Net has changed, it's no longer cvs.sourceforge.net but cvs.php-blog.sourceforge.net.

The XML error is no error, because the XML is only meant to be interpreted by Spartacus; it doesn'T require the namespace attribute for the browser.

TKS: When you now use netrmirr.org and download a plugin, which URL does it tell you to try to fetch?

If you can give me FTP and Blog access to your site, I could definitely check some things, yes! Mail me via PM if you want to do that.

HTH,
Garvin
