On my main site I am using the latest plugin from your site. I totally removed the plugin and then added the 1.5 version. The version on my test site is running the plugin from spartacus, 1.5 it looks like. I just installed it for the purpose of testing here.

Are you looking for the lightbox plugin settings or something else?

EDIT: oh yeah, this plugin is now at the top of the list of installed plugins; no such luck.

Ahm.. Hmm? Yes I'm looking for the plugin's configuration. You can configure LightBox 1 / LightBox 2 / ThickBox / GrayBox .. and so on. Wich one are you using at the moment? LB1 and GB don't work at all at the moment (this is not a matter of my optimization, they don't work because of their own scripts).

I run lightbox plus, it looks the best in my opinion. I've tried all of the other options and they have not worked for me.

To me it seems like the issue has something to do with something I've done to the site in the past. Seeing that it is not a server problem -- we tested that with the test site -- it would seem like something is getting in the way. I have no idea how I would even begin testing to see what exactly it is though. I've deactivated plugins to see if that will do anything, no luck.

I am leery to do too much right now as it is a live site. If I get time later today I will mirror the entire site so that I am no longer working with the live database. If you or anyone else has some ideas of what might be getting in the way let me know and I will be able to test it out.

I've just updated and tested it on three of my blogs. I'm using php4 on all installations (details), activating the optimization 'breaks' the plugin (= no javascript included in head). Deactivate the option and everything is fine.

chickens, are you sure, that the php5 is used? maybe there's a parallel php installation used (I got both php4 and php5 at my hosting available)? What's mentioned in the footer of the serendipity backend?

My server is 100% PHP5. I maintain the server and know for a fact that it is php5. It doesnt hurt that the admin says that as well

My problem could be completely unrelated to the the problems that people are having with php4. Seeing that the script works great under a new site, but not my current site it tells me something is up with the current site.

It might be worth checking which s9y version everyone is using? All my tested installations are 1.1.3.

I don't think, it is the s9y version.. ornus7577 is using PHP4 (optimization is known to be not working there), chickens has a blog installation problem (as he told us, so it is safe to assume, that the plugin has no problem itself but his installation).

@kleinerChemiker: Wich PHP version are you using? If you are using PHP <=5.1 , too, it is a known problem, that the optimization is not working with this PHP versions. (also I still don't know why :-()
