Listing by category, not date?

Is it possible to list entries by their groups instead of newest -> oldest?

My use for Serendipity isn’t as a normal blog, I would like to have sections (categories) of postings. I have created a few categories for my entries (hardware, installations, tips…) I have then populated each with a hand full of entries. Is there a simple way to get the entries listed by category and not newest to oldest?

I know I could hack away @ index.php, but would love to avoid doing that.
