Saving an article time has become excessive, 30 seconds to a minute.
The prompt is
saving your entry, creating trackbacks and performing possible XML-RPC calls. This may take a while..
then when done
Sent sitemap sitemap to www.google.com.
Sent sitemap sitemap to submissions.ask.com.
You can also add it to your robots.txt, see here for details.
Sending XML-RPC ping to host rpc.pingomatic.com...Success!!
Your entry has been saved (View)
I tested it with links and youtobe embed, just links, just embed video, and just plain text.
Seem to make no difference.
I have messed with trackback code in entries.tpl trying to shut them off. But as it happens without links?
What could is the slowness because the DB keeps getting bigger and bigger?
the browser status message only says waiting for rackjite.com
Saving article slowdown
Re: Saving article slowdown
If it don't react to the amount if links, this should have nothing to do with trackbacks. Maybe the sitemap-generation or the submit takes that long, or the XML-RPC-Call?

Re: Saving article slowdown
After some testing of this it sure seems to be the ANNOUNCE plugin 1.07 and not the sitemap plugin.
Just how important is all that pinging anyway? I had it on just PINGOMATIC.
