I have been away for several weeks and when I just returned I noticed that all the design features are not working from my blog? Maybe there is a problem with the css? Please help, I have no idea where to start.

CSS stopped working?
Re: CSS stopped working?
Looking into the code, I get "The resource from this URL is not text:" for your stylesheet. You could check whether the stylesheet of your template was accidentally destroyed or something and maybe upload it again? Make sure you don't upload it in binary (FTP) mode.berko1021 wrote:Maybe there is a problem with the css?

Re: CSS stopped working?
Do you know how I can get just the css file for the selected theme? What is a better way to upload it non-FTP? Usuall when I upload files, it is through FTP. Thanks for your help.
Re: CSS stopped working?
FTP uload is just fine, but uses 2 different modes to transfer files. A good FTP client should also offer an "automatic" mode to determine which mode (ascii oder binary) to use for which file.berko1021 wrote:Do you know how I can get just the css file for the selected theme? The CSS file of any s9y theme is usually /templates/YOURTEMPLATE/style.css, but some templates might have extra stylesheets. It would help to know which template you're actually using here

Re: CSS stopped working?
Using Brown Paper theme.
Re: CSS stopped working?
So, you should check /templates/brownpaper/style.css. That's the only stylesheet of that template. Does it exist, is it's size greater than 0? Is it readable for you web server user? If the answer to all those questions is "yes", I'd try uploading it via FTP again (you can get it von spartacus.s9y.org), making sure it's uploaded in ascii mode.

Re: CSS stopped working?
The styles.css file for that template is there and it is 7.5 kb. How do I check if it's readable for my web server user? Thanks for your help.
Re: CSS stopped working?
Well, the ftp client should show you the user and group the file is assigned to as well as the permissions of the file. However, this is where it gets a little iffy since I don't know the web server user on your server or the ftp client you're using.
Anyway, the permissions should be -rw-r--r-- or 644. Hope that helps.

Re: CSS stopped working?
Thanks for all your help previously. I got everything working again somehow but I had to switch away from Serendipity unfortunately. Thanks again!!
