Email address as user name

I get tired of trying to remember user names, so I thought I would change my user name to my email address. Serendipity allowed this, but in the list of users, the user name is blank. Also, when I log into the backend, it says Welcome back ,(in other words, blank again). In the upper right, it says "logged in as ..." and DOES show my email address user name.

Why does it not show in the list of users, and on the admin frontpage. There could also be other instances of it not showing the user name, these are the only two I found thus far.

This sounds to me like you changed your username but not your realname?

That's odd.... but just for verification, are any characters that might be allowed in an email address forbidden as a user name?

Hi!

No, not really. You can even use special character, anything that fints in the DB
