New User, Quick Question

Post by dtlay »

Set up blog on my page, subscribed to the feed in Google reader to test it. For the author's listing, it came over as "nospam@example.com (Dwane Lay)" instead of "Dwane Lay", which is what I expected. I've looked through the controls, but haven't been been able to find a way to fix.

This seems like a simple problem, but I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi!

The RSS feed is required to hold an email address by specification, so that is why s9y puts either your mail address there, or (by default) replaces it with a nospam address if the configuration of the syndication or antispam plugin is set to mask that...

BAsically, the RSS feeds are templatable. So you could pick a feed*.tpl file from the default template and modify it to suit your needs, also like remove a mail address. But that would then violate the specification of the RSS protocol, at least. Most clients won't have an issue with that, but conceptually it's not allowed.

Garvin
