yeah, agree - password "somehow" is being changed in mysql just for his user. And I am ... 99% sure neither cpanel, nor mysql itself would change it "just for fun" and just for this one user. That's why I wonder if it might be possible to somehow change mysql user's password in database using your software?

No, serendipity has no code to alter a MySQL username or password. There is also no plugin that does this for serendipity. Serendipity only changes passwords for authors, it only uses the MySQL credentials for READ operations, it never changes those.
