is there a way to allow viewers to start - a post - or reply to one, and post a photo?

we would like to allow people that have had our goods delivered to them be able to post photos back to the blog

thank you

Comments do not allow any html. You could try bbcode, but I am not personally familiar with the options. How about a "showcase" page where people send you their photos, and you post them in a showcase or customer gallery?

can we allow users to start, initiate a post in a 'given' category?

then they could post photos...

i am sure, these would have to be moderated.... ?

even a simple 'public' photo gallery upload with a 'comments' for given photo would be fine...

thoughts?

I have not personally pushed the limits of what can be done with photos and galleries. s9y can accomodate photo stuff, but I do not believe it is a strong point. I'm going to defer to those with greater experience in this particular matter.

many thanks don,

all i am saying is, i know we can load photos with our new posts as admin

i am asking for a way to allow a category to allow the "public" to be able to do what i do, only for that category.... no log in

to surt of 'turn around' the admin page, if you will.... to the front end...

many thanks

If you allow anyone to upload, you'll wind up with a lot of unwanted photos. Some may even be offensive.

On the other hand, there are free photo services; PhotoBucket, for one. You could allow your users to upload their images there, and reference them through BBCode in the comments.

There will still be offensive images. But at least they won't be stored on your server.
