Changing Premalinks!

Hello there,
i'm currently using domain/archives/id-postname.html

i'm thinking about changing the entry links to something else. i'l still include the %id% variable in it, i'm wondering about my OLD links! will it redirect to the new ones with the same id?

or all backlinks will be lost forever!?

No, you must take care of redirection yourself through .htaccess or mod_rewrite.
