I'm trying to install serendipity and it has worked out pretty ok. But when I try to make an new article HTMLArea won't start.
I get a IE message "Error on page" and when viewing the description it states "'HTMLArea' is undefined".
I use Serendipity 1.4 / PHP 5.2.3 / Apache2
I have no clue how to solve this, I'm really 100% new to all this...
Thanks for any help.
/Thomas

Hi!
What's your URL? It might be that you are missing some files so that the javascript files of htlmarea cannot be accessed.
Regards,
Garvin

Hi!
Now it's still slow, but it loads. Can you for tests set your s9y user account in the personal preferences to "english" language? Maybe the swedish (?) language file does not fully work in htmlarea (now Xinha)...?!

Hi!
Hm, I don'T think this could help. Only you could try to see if the /htmlarea subdirectory completely exists.
Maybe if you could create a s9y user account for me, then I could try what exactly happens. If you want to do that, mail me the username/password via PM.

Success!!
I guess the server needed a restart. After that there was no problem to copy all files and install.
So, the problem was at my end, a busy server or a hard disc drive going bezerk
Anyway, sorry for taking time from you Gavin, but in the end you pointed me in the right direction.
Thanks!
