problem with Downloadmanager

Post by trollkeeper »

I cannot get the downloadmanager module to display any website.

I have installed downloadmanager and used it to create directories and upload files. I have gone to the server location for the files and found a string for each file. It displays the file correctly from the downloadmanager module inside s9y when logged in as the administrator.

I cannot find a file in the site named downloads.html, nor does putting site/index.php?/downloads.html do anything but pull up the same page as if going to the site index itself.

I cant find any documentation on how to set this up - do I need to create a downloads.html page and if so what do I put in. The downloaded plugin doesnt seem to have this file.

I would like everyone to have access to the files that I put in here.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

In the configurationo f the downloadmanager plugin, did you change the Permalink URL there? By default it is, like you mentioned /site/index.php?/downloads.html that should work. But if you changed the permalinks, this would be what you need to use.

I did initially change those settings, but put them all back to original by uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. When I had them changed, the same thing happened (the index page looked exactly the same as the downloads page).

Here is what I have for link information (I figure it has to be something in here):

Downloadmanager settings:

static url downloadmanager
permalink /coopblog/index.php?/downloads.html
incoming data path /export/home/civil/coopblog//incoming
absolute download data path /export/home/civil/coopblog//files
http path to plugin /coopblog/plugins/serendipity_event_downloadmanager/

Under configuration for S9y:

full path /export/home/civil/coopblog/
relative path /coopblog/
url to blog http://www.ce.umanitoba.ca/coopblog/
index file index.php

I dropped some of the setting I didnt think were relevant. I dont know if this would have any effect on this, but I have 3 serendipity blogs running on the same server, each one having its own directory structure and database.

Hi!

Hm, I don't understand why the permalink itself does not work. Which other event plugins are you using?

As a fallback, you can access it with this URL:

http://www.ce.umanitoba.ca/coopblog/ind ... oadmanager

Thanks so much, I am using the URL you suggested so that is all we need.

To answer your question, we are using the default set of plugins from the latest install plus spartacus.

Just a word of note, my users love using s9y, it is so simple for them to post information to our students and powerful enough to do what we need it to do. With the addition of blogdesk, we made things even easier for them.

Again, thank you so much for a great product and super awesome service!!

:D
