Hi. My hosting company was offering a very cheap deal on installing Movable Type for me on my website domain. I started a blog about a month ago but find MT very buggy and not user friendly. If I switch over to Serendipity, will I just need to go with hosting that includes php mySQL? Is it easy to import my old blog?
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi!
Yes, Serendipity can be installed on usually any host that offers you PHP and MySQL. You should try to find a host that gives you PHP5 and MySQL 4 at least, and who gives you around 16MB of memory limit. s9y can work with 8MB (whichi s often the default), but the more plugins you want to use, the more memory s9y requires.
s9y comes with a moveable type importer. It can import users, categories and entries, so you should get along with that. It cannot import specific things like templates or plugins, though.

Garvin
