Slow connection to my blog

After searching a lot in this forum I could not find useful solutions to my case. Thank you for reading this.

My problem: After moving s9y to run on a new PC, it becomes incredibly slow for users to get connected to, not including other PHP site also using mysql such as Gallery2 on the same machine. I also find it slow to connect to it on the SAME machine hosting s9y.

My case in detail:
1. I have been using s9y since 0.7, and now using 1.3.1 running on my own Linux machine over ADSL. All services are on that machine too. Hardware: Intel Atom 1.6G with 2GB mem, OS is Ubuntu Server 8.04.1 LTS. Server load is very light. load average is always 0.0x, at most 0.1~0.2 using TOP.
2. I inspect the loading of my site using FireBug but I cannot find where goes wrong. Pictures on my site comes directly from Gallery2 on the same machine.
3. I am not sure this is due to s9y. Any possibility that MySQL causes this? Or ISP problem? But this situation only happens recently while at the same time I also completely changed the hardware.

Hi!

Hm, also your simple homepage took 95 seconds here for me. Could it be your DSL speed simply limiting the transfer rate?

Both your gallery and the blog load terribly slow, several minutes(!) actually.

Did you check your ethernet/dialup throughput with tools like iptraf?

Hi Garvin, thank you for your quick reply. I just thought of that it might be problems of hardwares if you cannot quickly connect to that simple text homepage. Two switch hubs used to concatenate cables long enough to connect my server with the ADSL modem may be the problem. I changed one of the two switches and now it turns out quicker, from my location.

But it is still weird that sometimes it is normal to connect to gallery and the text html but very slow to connect to the blog.

I should have checked the hardwares before asking. If anything related to s9y, I will post it here. Thanks~
