hide sidebar plugins for non logged in users

Post by vdudman »

I'm making a mostly members only site where there are some public pages and I want to be able to remove certain sidebar plugins until a user logs in.

Is this possibly ? I'm sure yes but can someone give me pointers as to the best way to achieve this....

Thanks

Hi!

You might want to have a look at the plugin "Toggle Sidebar state / Hide sidebar plugins" (serendipity_event_sidebarhider). This one allows you to hide sidebar plugins for certain categories or user groups.

Thats just what I was wanting...

those plugins are great -seems there is one for anything you want to do - is there a template or docs for writing new ones ?

Hi!

There is no real template, because plugins are very lean. Usually I suggest people to think about what kind of plugin they want to build, and then use existing ones as a template...
