Not Emailing Entries

Recently my entries have not been emailing consistently...I can't figure out why, the box continues to be checked for my subscribers but nothing goes out to them. Anyone know what's up?

Hi!

Did your mail server change? Serendipity uses the PHP mail() command to send mails. If your MTA is misconfigured or down or misbehaving, its mail queue will run with messages.

Also if you change the s9y configuration option for "Blog's mail address" to something that your MTA does not accept, it can lead to mails not being sent.

I haven't changed anything regarding the server, and I'm not quite sure how to check the settings you mentioned. It just suddenly started doing this...not all the time, maybe 50% of the time?

Hi!

You should really talk to your hoster of the mail provider. Sporadic issues are definitely not caused by serendipity, but would be related to a malfunctioning MTA (mail server).
