Hi,
Is there a technique or something like a sorting_entries_plugin ?
so far as it is possible, I would like altering the order of the entries on the startpage: only future entries showing up, sorted from recent articles/entries on the top of the page to the farest future down on the page. Articles/Entries, older than today should be moved to the archive.

Re: sorting entries
Hi!
That sounds like you want to use the blog more like an event system?
There is no functionality for this, but one could take the serendipity_event_customsort plugin as a foundation and build your own plugin. But I doubt this will be useful for usual blogging scenarios?
But it's definitely possible, and maybe only 2-3 hours worth of work.
Regards,
Garvin

Re: sorting entries
Hi,
) I'm also giving courses in painting and drawing there, so I told, that I'm willing to renovate their website - and serendipity is excellent to be operated by people, who never want to see something like html-tags, css, DOM-Levels and nothing of the sort. )
There are many events that will be taking place in the far future. On the other hand it is necessary to show them up, but seeing them on top, is a bit confusing. And I'm only now in the June-dates.
thanks again for the outstanding and speedy support in this forum

Found! I think you thought of serendipity_event_customarchive - I looked at it and the main functionality seems to be applicable for this case. It is just arguable whether I'm able to apply ....
