500 error when opening plugin installation

Post by Florian Fiegel »

Hi,

I got a new problem. I have a running installation and now comes an 500 error when I go to new versions of plugins or to the Install-page. I requested the problem at the support. They said that this seems to be related to max_execution_time which is 30 seconds.

I didn't change anything to this installation and this problem comes absolutely unexpected. Is there a problem cause the max_executin_time is too short? Or could there be something in s9y that causes the problem? Any thing I changed without knowing?

greetings
Florian

Hi!

netmirror.org seems to be down. You must either reconfigure the spartacus plugin to temporarily use sourceforge, or disable spartacus for some time.

Hi,

thanks, so I will wait until netmirror.org is up again to install further plugins.

Is there a way to build in an traffic light so that one can see if there is all okay?
Maybe it's something to add in the next version of spartacus. Or a mechanism to the script that shut it down if the time of getting an answer is running over a fixed span. Don't know if this could be implemented, but it would obviate this error.

Hi!

Hard to do, because once the server is down, you cannot access it, and trying to will yield timeouts. :-)

Sadly there is little that PHP can do in case of network connection issues; it simply times out.
