Problem with Windows Live Writer

Post by kooch »

I've been using Live Writer for about 3 months now, working beautifully! All of a sudden today, it is failing and giving me this message when trying to publish:

The server reported an error with the following URL:

http://www.koochonline.com/serendipity_xmlrpc.php

403 Forbidden

I can access this just fine by going to it myself, any ideas what might be causing this? Your help is appreciated!

Hrm... Well, a quick google for this and I came across this :

The short version is, do you have any software running on the server that automatically blocks "bad" clients? It may be that something changed, causing you to look like a bad client, thus you were blocked.

Bad Behavior plugin

Anyone know does serendipity have an equivalent plugin to wordpress's Bad Behavior plugin? This is what was causing exact Live Writer problems on wordpress and i'm getting the same errors

Hi!

No,s9y doesn't have that. Usual cause is your provider's mod_security.
