"Edit Entries" link in admin timing out

Post by Chinster »

As the title says, it's the only link in my admin not working. It waits for 30 secs or so then times out.

The only thing I think I might have changed last week was the number of entries to show on screen (on the edit entries screen).

Everything else is working fine including 'edit entry' from the main blog.

Hi!

To how many entries did you change it? It seems your server can't take the load/traffic of the database.

Hi Garvin, I think I changed it to 100 (though not sure if I even have 100 entries in there).

The exact error is 'page cannot be displayed' which occurs after about 1-2 minutes.

Is there a configuration file I can manually change the entry back to something more manageable?

Hi!

Okay, that might simply be too much. To get rid of this, you will need to delete your browser's cookies associated to your blog, because a cookie holds this value.

The other option would be to check your Server's Error Log where you should see which error exactly is causing the "page not found". usually it's Out of Memory.

Garvin

Ok, deleting cookies hasn't worked though I made the changes on a different PC anyway, this PC is accessing the site for the first time in a few weeks.

Have so far been unable to find my error logs on the server but I'll keep looking, they should be on there somewhere.......

It's working today. I didn't do anything. Still, I'm happy about it :D
