installation script doesn't give an option for postgres db

Post by sayed »

hi
I'm installing serendipity for the first time. I have both mysql and postgresql running, but the serendipity installation scripts only shows MySql in the database list. How do I specify I want to use postgres?

thanks!

I don't know if this is helpful for you but if you start up s9y an go to the admin site, you can configure your database there.

But I haven't completed the installation yet. Can I change databases afterwards? That is, if I go through the installation with mysql as the database, can I change it to postgres from the admin site afterwards?

thanks

I don't have time to verify, but I don't think s9y gives you an option for DBs that PHP doesn't know how to talk to--my guess is you don't have PHP's Postgres extension enabled?
