Would somebody out there be willing to make the necessary changes to the theme for a small fee?
Changes to be made publicly available, BTW... I'm not looking for private work here.
Thanks
-Tom
Yeah, I used that form to ask if he could do this a couple weeks ago and got no response. So then I took a stab it myself, and came up horribly short.Don Chambers wrote:Tom - I think it is great that you are willing to make a contribution to someone who helps you, and then share the modification with the serendipity community!!! That is awesome and sets a great example for others to follow!
A number of people here are more than capable of making that change, myself included.... however, I think the original template author deserves the first shot at it. Have you contacted the author? You can do so here: http://abdussamad.com/pages/contactform.html
Yeah thats it. The homing pigeon must be deadDon Chambers wrote:He is in Pakistan... communication may not be what it used to be. Let's give him a bit, and if there is still no response, I will help you. How's that sound?
I got your message but I dismissed it as a phishing attempt. Some people enjoy emailing me with offers of money for work and then don't pay upYeah, I used that form to ask if he could do this a couple weeks ago and got no response. You mean there are dishonest people on the Internet? NO!abdussamad wrote: I got your message but I dismissed it as a phishing attempt. Some people enjoy emailing me with offers of money for work and then don't pay up![]()
Hrmph. That's too bad. I'd really rather give you the money, both for the changes and the original port too. (No offense to Don there, BTW... just trying to give credit where credit is due.)abdussamad wrote: Anyway I'll look into it but I don't expect you to be able to pay me because paypal doesn't support my country. If you want fast work then feel free to hire don.
abdussamad wrote: Anyway where do you want the second sidebar and do you want me to increase the total width of the theme as well? Squeezing in a second sidebar in the existing width will make the theme look more cramped. Also these days two sidebars side by side is fashionable. Do you want that ? See yellowleds ports for examples of that:

Sorry that I didn't see this right away - for some reason I didn't get notified about your post via email.abdussamad wrote:Ok I finished a modified version of freshy that expands to > 1024px if there are plugins in both sidebars. You can download it here:
http://abdussamad.com/uploads/mytemplat ... y_1024.zip
To install it just unzip it and upload the freshy_1024 folder to your s9y templates folder. Then select freshy 1024 in admin->manage styles. Choose a *_large.jpg image for the header. For example droplets_large.jpg instead of droplets.jpg. If you want to use a custom image it should be 1000x95 in size if you are using two sidebars and 780x95 for one. If everything is ok then I'll replace the existing freshy on my site with this one.
I am having one issue - since upgrading to this version of the theme, the karma plugin no longer shows images - only text. I think this has something to do with the CSS for the karma plugin not being sent to the browser, but I can't figure why (or how to fix it). Anybody have any thoughts?abdussamad wrote:Ok I finished a modified version of freshy that expands to > 1024px if there are plugins in both sidebars. You can download it here:

I figured it out - index.tpl did not include a reference to serendipity.css when both sidebars were used. I tweaked it to include both style_1024.css and serendipity.css and now everything seems to be working fine.tombriggs wrote:I am having one issue - since upgrading to this version of the theme, the karma plugin no longer shows images - only text. Thanks again!
Ok, so now I really have it figured out - I manually requested /index.php?/serendipity.css, then copy-n-pasted all the CSS related to the karma plugin into freshy/style_1024.css. Viola!tombriggs wrote:Nope, I take that back... that fixes the karma plugin but breaks the second sidebar. Back to square one...
Yes that would work but its not very portable. You would have to do that for every plugin that you install like say the freetag plugin .Ok, so now I really have it figured out - I manually requested /index.php?/serendipity.css, then copy-n-pasted all the CSS related to the karma plugin into freshy/style_1024.css.
