Routing to the serendipity directory shows the stylesheet?

Post by mabe »

Hi,

Hopefully you can help me.

I have installed serendipity correct in the serendipity directory on my webspace. The mydomainname.org/serendipity/index.php ist good working up to the moment when I automaticly route to this directory from provider preferences. The only thing is that I see the stylesheet information. Nothing more.

Is the path for the stylesheet wrong?

Regards

Here are the Urls

Post by mabe »

relativ path is /serendipity/

than normal /templates and /uploads

my path to the blog is
http://www.morethanfunctional.org/serendipity/

I have switched it directly to this serendipity directory so that you can see what I mean.

Hi!

Could it be that in the root of your http://www.morethanfunctional.org/ server there also are "serendipity.css.php" files? Or maybe that there is no "serendipity" subdirectory?

The phenomenon you have can occur if your webserver cannot find the right file to display, and then mod_speling (apache) will automatically decide that "serendipity.css.php" is the right file to pick. However, index.php would be the appropriate file to use. In most cases this happens because the directory layout does not correspond with the one coming with serendipity...?

Its working a bit...

Post by mabe »

Hi users,

hi garvinhicking,

somehow I have tried a lot and now it is somehow working up to the templates and uploads file.

I am now forwarding directly to the serendipity directory. That the S9y works I need to change the paths. I changed my relative path from /serendipity/ to / (root).

Also the URL to the blog I did change from morethanfunctional.org/serendipity to morethanfunctional.org.

It is working somehow but it seems that it is not finding the templates and uploads directory. I dont see what to change?

Some Ideas?

Hi!

What does not work in which regard? When I now open http://www.morethanfunctional.org/ I see a proper blog with all layout elements!?

There are no pictures. It seems that it finds not the uploads directory?

Uploading new files ist still possible but you can not look trough them.

You have an Idea?

Hi!

There is a double "//" prefixing the templates. This can happen due to a bad s9y path config.

Please post what path configuration you made in your s9y installation. Somewhere there's a double slash happening.

tried out everything???

Post by mabe »

here are my paths:

Voller Pfad : /www/htdocs/wmynumber/serendipity/
Upload-Pfad : uploads/
Relativer HTTP-Pfad : /
Relativer Template-Pfad : templates/
Relativer Upload-Pfad : uploads/

URL zum Blog : http://www.morethanfunctional.org/

HTTP-Hostnamen automatisch erkennen : TRUE

With this Settings the code is working. But can not look trough the Pictures.

I have tried to delet the root sign in relativer http-Pfad but it is not possible. Or can I try it on another way? Maybe it is a Bug?

Regards

Hopefully we will get this bastard path settings probleme bug.

Hi!

But there, your images are now working in the sidebar.

But in your entries you can still find "/serendpity/" references. Seems like you moved your s9y installation frmo /serendipity/ to / at some point. If you do this, you must fix all your entries image references like outlined in the FAQ, because image paths are stored inside your entries.

If you create a new entry, you will see that images will be placed correctly.

Garvin
