[solved] Captcha seems to be in the wrong place

Post by CrasherAtWeb »

Hey together!

The anti-spam captchas in my s9y-installation seems to be in the wrong place. They're not beneath the description of the comment-formatting, but between. More precise said: They're beneath the advice to accept the cookie and above the description how you can highlight or underline words. Can someone tell me, how I could rearrange the captchas beneath the whole formatting-description?

If someone wants to see the problem, my URL is http://www.crasheratweb.de/, but it is a website in German.

Thanks for every help!
And sorry, if there is already a method of resolution documented in this forum, I didn't find one.[/code]

Hi!

That output depends on the positioning of the "Anti-Spam" event plugin and the surrounding markup plugins. If you move the anti-spam event plugin to be first in line, then the captchas information will be shown as the first one in the comment screen.

Hey Garvin!

Thanks! It's weird, but it helped. But then I have point on the wishlist for the next s9y-version:
it shouldn't matter in which position of the list a Event plugin is arranged!

Thanks again! Have a nice day!

Hi!

That's a bad request. The order of plugins is good and useful for many things, exactly for those you mention, so that people can place the otuput where they want.

Also in this way they can indicate in which order markup plugins will be applied.

This will NEVER EVER go away. :-)

Garvin

Okay, that makes a kind of sense, although I would appreciate it more if the positions of the particular parts of a comment- or message-form (as long as they are shown/used by the admin(s) of the page) would be standardized on behalf of general usability.

But if it will be always arranged by the arrangement of their Event plug-ins in the list, I would appreciate it, if for every Event-plug-in would exist a precise description, what they and their arrangement in the list cause. The descriptions in Spartacus are not very helpful in this way. And it would be very nice, if the descriptions would be accessible by clicking on a "Info"- oder "HowTo"-Button in the plug-in-box.

Hm, IMHO this is a matter of the blog owner. He's even able to emit his custom messges by editing the template. I myself want to rank BBCode maybe higher than the captcha input, and why shouldn't I be allowed to do so?

I agree, the descriptions could be much better. However, we need people for that who can update the descriptions. This is a lot of work, and nobody has yet volunteered. :-)

IMHO showing the descriptions directly has a big benefit: You can easily use your browser to type+find so that you can easier install the plugins you want/need.

Well, I don't want to patronize the other blog-users. But it would be helpful if, their would be one standard-form and that it would be the standard-setting in s9y. But that wouldn't be a legally binding standard. So it would be totally okay, if the blog-owners could differ from it, if they want to.

Well, I'm waiting for your book to get deeper in the structure of s9y. If I have it and understand s9y better, I will look, what I can do for the s9y-community!
