self registered users + edit their own profiles

Post by lordcoffee »

Hi!

I've installed the "serendipity_plugin_adduser" (version: 2.18) and it works fine. I've also installed the "serendipity_event_userprofiles" (version: 0.25) and again it works fine. I've created a new Usergroup wich all new users are atached to. I've setup the group as you can see here. The new selfregistered users should have the option to edit their profile. When the user setup his profile he sees this this. What I want is that the user only sees the orange marked fields because the registration to the blog is only for viewers not for authors. So the rest of those options would be a bit confusing.

Is there a way to manage this?

Thanks a lot,
Lordcoffee

Hi!

For this you would need to change Serendipity core code, it is currently not programmed that you can disable certain configuration fields.

I don't really think this is so important, the people could simply disregard those fields? :-)

Hi Garvin!

I already suspected this answer ;-) It's a bit like "dead" links - why showing them when you can't use them (like "under construction"). But as far as I'm using this for my private uses it'll be good enough :-)

Thanks, Lordcoffee
