Feed RSS - beginner needs help

Hi to the community of Serendipity,

I am sorry if the question sounds stupid but I am a beginner and I need some help to display RSS Feeds.

Please see some details of the configuration:

Use RSS-Link? --> Yes
RSS display element --> "title"
Escape HTML output --> No
Address: http://www.lequipe.fr/Xml/Cyclisme/Titres/actu_rss.xml
Charset: UF-8

type of feed --> RSS

I hope I gave enough details.

It is not working and shows the message:
Error on line 149 of /home.10.26/untourde/www/Blog/bundled-libs/Onyx/RSS.php: File has an XML error (not well-formed (invalid token) at line

my blog is http://untourdevelo.com/Blog

can someone help me to fix my problem with the RSS feed.

ps: you will also probably notice a problem with Google map because IO would like to show a google map as well on my blog

As far as I can tell (read: I'd wait for Garvin to confirm it), the feed from L'Equipe you're trying to import isn't valid and can therefore not be displayed. So it's not an error in your blog but in L'Equipe's feed.

I tried with:

http://www.sport24.com/rssfeeds/sport24-accueil.xml

it works better because there is no error message but now I have only the date of the news but nothing else.

i suppose it is something related to the date and other configration...

Hi!

YellowLED is right; the first feed simply is not XML-valid.

The second one looks okay, and basically should show up. I'm wondering if I inspect the HTML sourcecode I see multiple (empty) links that partially point to http://www.sport24.com/ but some to http://www.cyclisme-roltiss-over.com or fluxrss.fr -- but those links are not contained inside the RSS feed

-- could it be you configured the plugin differently now?

The plugin caches its output, so you might need to delete the templates_c/*remoterss*.* files when you made a configuration change so that it can update properly?

I have put a new address:
http://fluxrss.fr/agregateur/cyclisme.rss

which is a combination of different rss feed.

RSS display element is still "title"
type of feed: RSS
target of link: _blank

maybe there is a problem with the configuration.

otherwise I don't know how to delete the the templates_c/*remoterss*.* files . serendipity is not installed on my computer, i am only using it as admin.

Hi!

It might be that there's a bug in the plugin. You're using an older version of s9y, can you please use the recent 1.2.1 release?

You can delete files in templates_c by using your FTP client/connection.

thank you, it is possible that there is a problem in the plugin.

s9y is not installed on my computer but on the computer of the webdesigner who created the original website untourdevelo.com .

i don't know but is it possible for me to install the software as well? is there a posibility of conflict if two people have got the software installed for the same blog? sorry if the question sounds stupid but my knowledge on s9y is limited.

Hi!

You don't need to install it on your computer! You will need to install the installation at the server of where serendipity is installed through FTP; if you have no FTP account to that place, you will need to ask your webdesigner to delete the mentioned files for you and upgrade Serendipity to a recent version.
