Hi!
two days ago "client denied by server configuration: [...]serendipity_config.inc.php"
More details please. Where did you get this? What did you do?
But I reinstalled again and after it there were no other errors logged.
What configuration path do you mean?
The paths in the serendipity backend > configuration > paths. If you cannot access them, check your serendipity_config DB table for all values that have a "path" in them.

Like, if you configured

/var/www/html/serendipity/

as a path, but in reality it might be

/var/www/html/documentroot/serendipity/

this would lead to s9y not being able to include all files.

Regards,
Garvin

My lovely webspace support just emailed me again and said they installed s9y in a testfolder, set German for lang and installed on a new DB (I actually only have one, so I couldn't try this, but nothing is saved on it, just s9y). But surprise, it works fine! So it's not a technical problem on my server. I'm going to check everything... it's just... I installed so many times and deleted everything before it. Looks like I always did the same mistake. When I found out, I'll post again and let you know. So thanks for now.

regards as well,

It's working. Can't remember to write localhost in the installation configuration. Stupid, eh? First step is knowing that you made a mistake :-)

So I'm fine now and glad you tried everything to help me. Now I spread the world that s9y is the best!

Mine's solved!

Post by dragon47 »

Thanks for this thread. That told me enough to solve mine.

I had been cleaning up some old stuff (I tried a translation software for my web site) and deleted the /lang directory. When I uploaded the /lang directory again, all was well with my blog www.thenextwindow.com

Now that it's solved, I need to get busy on this one again.
