wrong display of characters

Post by Ralf Skirr »

Hi,

I'm not aware of any changes that I made to my blog, but the display of certain characters has changed within the last days.

Using google cache I was able to retrieve an image how it looked a few days ago.

Here's an image that shows a few days ago and the current version:

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks,
Ralf

Hi!

Did anything change on your server? New MySQL version? Different configuration?

Did you in your s9y installation change something, like the charset option or the option "Use DB connection names"?

Hi!

Okay, then you have a problem. When upgrading to MySQL 4.1, all sort of connection and charset problems occur.

Please talk to your serve rprovider on how to best fix this.

Also play with s9y's option "Enable DB charset conversion" in the configuration section.

Turning "Enable DB charset conversion" off solved the problem.
