Error 742 and Fatal error 36

Post by bannerz »

I'm brand new to this - so I thought I would talk to the Gods of Serendipity. So if you (God with 100's of hours spent in the Kingdom of Serendipity) can help this fallen Angel, with Error code 742, and Fatal error 36, then maybe I can move from purgatory ......to a little closer where the Gods live.

Below is the message I get: You can also see the message at
http://admart.info/serendipity/

May the Gods be benevolent.

Donna

Hi!

Can it be you forgot to upload some files to your s9y installation?

Judging by the error message, the file

/home/webusers/alumabond/admart.info/www/serendipity/bundled-libs/Smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php

does not exist or is not readable.

Garvin

I did check the file was on the web server.... and it is there, it seems OK.
Where would I find a newer version and transfer it over.

Hi!

And is the full path there in order? PHP really complains about the readability of that file, so there must be something awkward going on in your server.

Maybe you can ask your provider if there's something up with that path or the privileges of that file.

Garvin

Here's what I got from my provider

Post by bannerz »

This was the response from my provider......

Thank you for contacting Mecca ehosting.ca

Our technicians have taken a look at the error on your site and unfortunately it is a problem with your configuration and you will need to consult with your technician in regards to this. Please note that as we host your site we do not provide scripting support. If you need our technicians to make changes to your site there is a charge of $150.00/hour with a minimum of one hour.

SO If anyone as a better idea?????

I'm thinking of re-installing the entire thing.

Hi!

LOL, what a great technical support. Usual hosters can investigate this symptom much easier.

If you give me your FTP access data as well as a phpmyadmin login, I can try to have a look, for free.

Re-Installation might help, though - if you don't have stored any entries yet, that might be the best try for starters.

Garvin
