Wrap URL question ???

Post by magic »

Hi
I maintain many websites using various cms & blogging tools, and am finding Serindipty refreshing and easy to install, use, etc.
However, I seem to be a having a mental block with the 'wrap_url' plugin. :(

I just cannot get this to display ANY chosen page. Can someone please explain how to use this - in VERY SIMPLE language please, as I'm obviously overlooking something very basic !!!!

On a separate issue, can anyone recommend a good photo alternative to 'Gallery'
TIA

Hi!

Let me try. Let's use an example:

Your URL: http://www.myblog.com/
A foreign application: http://flickr.garv.in/
Your URL where you want to show the foreign application: http://www.myblog.com/myflickr.html

1. You install the wrap URL through the s9y plugin management.

2. You configure the plugin with these options:
Headline: "My flickr gallery"
Permalink: "/myflickr.html"
URL shorthand name: "myflickr"
The URL: "http://flickr.garv.in/

The other two options are non-important.

3. You can now call your page via http://www.myblog.com/myflickr.html! If you do not have URL Rewriting available on your server, you can use the URL shorthand name to access the same page: http://www.myblog.com/index.php?serendi ... ]=myflickr

HTH,
Garvin

:D VMT Garvin
All sorted now.......... I'd somehow (??) replaced 'wpages' with 'pages' in Permalink. Once I amended this, it works fine.
