Show tagged entries

Post by Zirbelholz »

I have been trying out a tag cloud, converting my category labels into tags.

I haven't moved or altered the tag cloud in any final way, just tried it out and left it at the very bottom. It has only a few tags.

If I click on UK, I am taken to a page with the UK entries. At the top, however, it says:

Entries tagged as UK

Related tags
photostranslation

'Photostranslation' is in a huge font (I don't understand the font sizing in headers)

Problem: the tags photos and translation are *not* related
there should at least be a gap between 'photos' and 'translation'

Can I remove this within the plugin adjustment? It seems useless and incorrect information.

TIA

Entries tagged as UK - that is something of a header for the entries you have tagged as UK... which in your case, is is two entries.

The "Related tags - photostranslation" bit is misleading. It is really "photos" and "translation"..... that is because your 2 UK entries each use one of these other tags, so the values there could use a little separation via padding or margin.

You can modify the behavior of this entire tag cloud from by clicking on the EVENT plugin for tagging of entries, including turning it completely off.

Of course UK tags point to UK entries! That is the whole idea of tags, isn't it? And yes, I understand that I could turn it off. But I don't want to turn it off - I have only just turned it on

Those tags are not related to each other. How can I remove the "related tags" bit? I could not find it in either plugin.

The tags all come from categories. That seems to be possible.

Another thing I don't understand: if I click on the category UK, I get far more hits than on the tag UK, although the tag was created from the category.

(I realize I can create tags as tags, and maybe that's the only sensible way, but I'm trying to work it out).

Thanks

Ah - I have just discovered 'Manage tags'. That is probably what I want.

I'm sorry if I keep posting simple questions, but when I search, I get twenty hits and none seem to apply. I have now disabled 'show tag cloud to related tags' - it was the only point that mentioned 'show tag cloud', so I thought I had to select it.

Another question: I can't find any documentation for 'manage tags'. It seems useful because it lists all my untagged entries, which is easier than clicking back through the archives. But what is meant by 'Leaf' tags? Is that something that has nothing to do with tagged entries? I think it is a problem that the word 'tag' has more than one context.

There are also some messages giving advice about 'freetags', but I can't find the word freetag in the plugin headers. I decided that the wording must have changed.

TIA

Hi!

Leaf tags are tags that are only used once on entries, and no other entry is tagged with that same tag.

There is no documentation on the plugin yet. Though it will be covered by my (german) book.
There are also some messages giving advice about 'freetags', but I can't find the word freetag in the plugin headers. I decided that the wording must have changed.
when the plugin was initialle developed, the word "Tag" was not really broadly used. I called it "Freetag" then. When other developers picked up the plugin, it eventually was changed to "Tag" only. Though, the plugin file itself still uses "freetag" nomenclature for internal things.
